A few resources and trip reports.
About 6 weeks of adventure and Type I and II fun. See the sub-page for details.
Quick overnighter with Frank & Sarah. The flowers on the South end of Vendovi were beautiful.
Did we mention we like Patos?
A “big loop” of the San Juans around Orcas, the outside of San Juan island, Cattle Pass and Southern Lopez as well. We did run into a decent sized pod of orcas between Limekiln and Cattle Pass.
Gooseberry - Doughty - San Juan County Park - Griffin Bay - Cypress Head - Gooseberry.
We really like Patos..
Two weeks clockwise loop starting and ending in Telegraph Cove. We passed through Gods Pocket, Shelter Bay, Kingcome Inlet, the Broughton Archipelago, and the amazing wildlife of Blackfish Sound.
A strong drought made water trickier than usual, leaving many normally reliable streams dry. We had to do some side trips and in one case near Balaclava (Gods Pocket) got some from a yacht. We bought a pump desalinator after this trip.
See a selection of some photos.
Again from Gooseberry. Visited Patos, Waldron, Stuart, James, Lummi.
First time venturing out into some swell. Out & return from Whidbey. Lots of Rhinoceros Auklets, and we believe a few puffins diving from the cliffs above a dense bull kelp forest.
Short loop from Anacortes.
Counter-clockwise, from Gooseberry Point. Camped at Point Doughty, Jones, Clark.
